Ibbie White Alshamma

"Catylea Orchid" watercolor

Women Artists of Kauai is pleased to welcome our newest member, Ibbie White. She currently works in watercolors, acrylics, fabric design and assemblage.

"Painting enables me to share my delight in the natural world with others - to express vividly what I see and feel about plants and other living creatures.

Watercolor, especially combined with ink, feels as if it is a natural medium for me. Demanding attentiveness and delicacy, it holds the promise of unexpected beauty from the interaction of color and surface. Watercolor is low toxicity, portable, and low maintenance."

Donia Lilly

"Reflection" - Acrylic

Women Artists of Kauai welcomes our newest member, Donia Lilly! She is a mixed media artist working primarily in pastels and acrylics.

"I draw inspiration from what I see around me, but it is my response to my environment and experiences that is most important to my artistic process. I am constantly borrowing lines, shapes, textures, and colors from nature, but use them for my own creative purposes in my paintings and drawings. Whether from memory or imagination, my art is meant to create an emotional sense of place, engulfing the viewer with unconventional beauty."
